About The Position

The Senior Water Resources / Drainage Engineer will lead the design and implementation of drainage and stormwater management systems for major infrastructure projects in Ontario. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions. This position sits within our Mobility Global Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in drainage design and stormwater management, with a focus on infrastructure projects
  • P.Eng (Professional Engineer) designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required
  • Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM), CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Openroads), and GIS applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of innovative and effective drainage and stormwater management systems for a variety of infrastructure projects.
  • Provide guidance in areas such as hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater management, and erosion control.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that all deliverables are completed efficiently and meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Ensure that all designs are fully compliant with local, provincial, and federal regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to seamlessly integrate drainage solutions into broader project designs.
  • Conduct field inspections and site assessments to verify the quality, functionality, and performance of drainage systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, detailed drawings, and precise specifications to support the successful delivery and implementation of drainage projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
