About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for a Senior WebLogic Administrator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the non-profit organizations that collects, verifies, and maintains student enrollment and degree data for educational institutions. The Senior WebLogic Administrator is responsible for the design, administration, optimization, and support of Oracle WebLogic Server environments that host mission-critical enterprise applications. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of Oracle-based middleware platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. The Senior WebLogic Administrator serves as a technical leader, partnering closely with application, database, infrastructure, and cloud teams to support Oracle ecosystems, drive automation, and enable reliable, resilient application delivery. Your future duties and responsibilities: . Manage and maintain WebLogic environments, ensuring stability and performance. . Perform WebLogic installation, domain configuration, clustering, patching, and upgrades across environments. . Support middleware lifecycle operations, including deployments, migrations, and environment refreshes. . Maintain and enhance operational scripts used for lifecycle tasks, start/stop processes, and environment provisioning. . Analyze and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues to minimize downtime. . Contribute to architectural decisions involving WebLogic domain structures, clustering strategies, load balancing, and middleware integration patterns. . Help define and maintain middleware best practices, security configurations, and operational standards. . Support enhancements to authentication, authorization, and security policy configurations within WebLogic domains. . Collaborate with application teams, DBAs, cloud engineers, and infrastructure staff to support full‑stack application delivery. . Provide guidance during Disaster Recovery (DR) preparation and execution involving WebLogic server recovery and startup sequences. . Monitor system performance, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) behavior, and WebLogic health indicators; proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks. . Review and interpret logs, diagnostics outputs, and audit trails to support root‑cause analysis. . Document processes, configurations, scripts, and procedures to ensure operational continuity and cross-team knowledge transfer. . Maintain clear and up‑to‑date runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and environment maps.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience administering Oracle WebLogic Server in enterprise production environments.
  • Strong experience with WebLogic installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and ongoing support
  • Recent hands-on experience with automation and scripting)
  • Expertise in middleware performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Deep understanding of middleware‑database integration, JVM tuning, and domain architectures.
  • Experience with high‑availability architectures, load balancing, failover strategies, and enterprise security practices.
  • Familiarity with OCI cloud-based middleware environments
  • Experience with collaborating across cross-functional engineering teams and using enterprise ticketing systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Gitlab) and DevOps tools.
