About The Position

Camp Greentree is a therapeutic summer camp experience designed for children/adolescents experiencing emotional/behavioral challenges. The Senior Consultant is responsible for providing oversight and supervision to group co-leaders and/or support team members, designing and implementing training to support program operations, and consulting with senior program leadership to support overall operations of the program. The Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) has been helping people across the Washington metropolitan area meet emotional, social, and physical challenges for more than 120 years. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, education, and/or special education from an accredited school, college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a camp setting or similar child-centered setting (i.e. school or daycare).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with behavioral/emotional challenges
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work effectively with others as a member of a program leadership team

Nice To Haves

  • Some knowledge of principles, methods, procedures, and practices associated with group work and/or treatment of children with mental/behavioral health needs highly preferred.
  • Professional licensure (LCSW, LCSW-C, LPC, LCPC, LMFT)

Responsibilities

  • Support orientation and onboarding of all assigned staff including planning and facilitating training sessions.
  • Monitor adherence to agency, department and program policies, procedures, protocols, and processes related to all aspects of service delivery and operations (i.e. supervision of campers, implementation of behavioral management strategies, facilitation of therapeutic interventions, documentation, and supervision of campers).
  • Facilitate weekly supervision of staff to include ongoing training and professional development, review of caseload concerns, and ongoing assessment and evaluation of staff performance.
  • Collaborate with other members of senior leadership to support all aspects of program operations.
