About The Position

Sensing Product Specialist - Illinois and Indiana Standard Electric Supply Co. is a family-owned company that is celebrating 106 years of service. We are a wholesale distributor of electrical and automation supplies. We have 16 locations across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. This position is posted in multiple locations to reflect our flexibility with where the successful candidate may be based. Candidates may work out of our Indianapolis, Warsaw, or Chicago Ridge location. The salary for this position is $75,000. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state. Position Overview In this role, you will work directly with customers across Illinois and Indiana, helping them understand and adopt our advanced sensor and safety technology lines. You will be trained by our experienced sales engineers to become proficient in product knowledge, demonstrations, and customer engagement. This position is ideal for someone who is self-driven, enjoys working with people, and is looking to grow their technical sales career within a stable and supportive organization.

Requirements

  • College degree or technical school graduate (engineering or related fields preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional, punctual, and self-motivated
  • Ability to learn and understand technical products
  • Comfortable with local travel across Illinois and Indiana
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous sales experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships within Illinois and Indiana
  • Conduct on-site customer visits and product demonstrations
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate sensor and machine safety solutions
  • Collaborate with our experienced Account Managers and sales engineers to support customers and close sales opportunities
  • Represent our company professionally and appreciatively
  • Maintain accurate activity records and reports
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with product offerings and industry advancements
