Server Assistant|Runner/Busser Position Summary The Server Assistant|Runner/Busser is responsible for ensuring that guests are seated at clean, properly set tables. This role involves promptly clearing and resetting tables, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and assisting servers with food and beverage deliveries. Additionally, the Server Assistant helps create a welcoming atmosphere by ensuring all table settings are complete and the dining area is tidy and organized, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. This is a tipped position, with earning potential based on service quality and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull & carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently bend and stoop.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the restroom, restaurant, and side service areas.
  • Sets up the bus stand, restocks, and prepares it for shift change and/or close.
  • Properly complete all guest-related tasks, i.e., bread and water service, within the time limits specified by outlet standards.
  • Checks high chairs and booster seats for cleanliness.
  • Empties trash and spot sweeps the restaurant and bar floor.
  • Prepares coffee and iced tea during shift.
  • Offer assistance to guests by clearing away dishes and glassware and refilling beverages.
  • Keeps the immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Remove dishes from the side service areas and place them in the dishwasher area.
  • Responsible for separating linen from bus pans and trays and placing them in a linen bag.
  • Responsible for initial clearing of the areas, i.e., removing leftovers by dumping food items in the trash.
  • Rearranges tables for special or large parties.
  • Assist the server with serving food or garnishing plates as required.
  • Assist the server with the preparation and/or delivery of orders as required.
  • Vacuums the carpet, mops the floor, cleans the walls, cabinets, and food storage areas in the restaurant.
  • Maintains ice caddies in the service areas.
