Service Manager – Water Treatment Systems Join Xylem – Shaping the Future of Water 🌊 At Xylem, we deliver proven solutions in water and wastewater treatment, disinfection, and filtration. We are seeking a Service Manager to lead and inspire field service professionals supporting complex water treatment systems across healthcare, industrial, and commercial environments. This role leads teams responsible for installation, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of advanced water treatment systems, including those supporting hemodialysis clinics and healthcare facilities where water quality standards are critical. You will drive team performance, customer satisfaction, safety, and operational excellence, while building a culture of accountability, innovation, and engagement. Bonus: Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience with water treatment or process systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Military or relevant industry experience may substitute for degree
  • Experience in water treatment, process water, or technical service environments
  • Technical field service or equipment support experience preferred
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Strong people leadership and team development
  • Ability to communicate up, down, and across organizations
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting
  • Ability to resolve customer or operational issues in complex environments
  • Proficiency with business systems such as Microsoft Office, Oracle/SAP, and cloud-based platforms
  • Some travel required
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to healthcare or hemodialysis water systems is a plus
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Reverse osmosis (RO) systems Pretreatment systems (carbon tanks, softeners, multimedia filters) Water quality monitoring and instrumentation Pumps, valves, and control systems Preventative maintenance programs Water treatment applications in healthcare, dialysis, or industrial settings
  • Candidates with experience in the following environments or systems are strongly encouraged to apply: Hemodialysis water treatment systems Healthcare facility water purification systems Reverse osmosis (RO) systems and pretreatment equipment Dialysis clinic infrastructure and water distribution loops AAMI dialysis water standards and water quality monitoring Industrial or high-purity process water systems Biomedical equipment service or clinical technical support Water treatment systems in hospitals, laboratories, or pharmaceutical facilities
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience with water treatment or process systems.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain a safe, high-performance work environment
  • Lead and develop field service teams across multiple sites or complex facilities
  • Support service operations for water purification and treatment systems, including: Reverse osmosis (RO) Carbon filtration Water softening Pretreatment systems Distribution systems
  • Ensure systems meet applicable water quality and regulatory standards, including healthcare environments when applicable
  • Guide teams in complex troubleshooting of water treatment equipment, pumps, controls, and instrumentation
  • Monitor KPIs, service metrics, and operational performance
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and critical spare parts
  • Partner with commercial and regional teams to achieve service center and P&L objectives
  • Provide proactive leadership to support customer success and long-term partnerships
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
