Peraton is seeking a seasoned Servo Subsystem Engineer to be part of a cutting edge, mission focused team supporting the Deep Space Network (DSN) in Fort Irwin, CA with NASA/JPL. The Deep Space Network is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never-before-seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it. What You'll Do: The Servo Subsystem Engineer (SSE) is responsible for the overall test, maintenance and repair of the GDSCC servo, surveillance, and weather monitoring subsystems. Supervises the implementation of Engineering Changes to the GDSCC servo, surveillance, and weather monitoring subsystem equipment. Requires a working knowledge of the UNIX operating system, VxWorks, test equipment as well as the site-specific antenna controlling equipment.
