Every product that leaves our factory has been designed, engineered, and produced for exclusive use in North America. U.S. Boiler Company is a subsidiary of Burnham Holdings, Inc. We are seeking a 3rd shift Set Up Utility to join our team! This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are 3rd SHIFT—Sunday, 8:30 PM – 5 AM; Monday-Thursday, 6:30 PM – 5 AM; Two Saturdays per month, 6:30 PM – 12:30 AM Under general supervision, sets-up and operates all machinery in department as necessary requiring the use of various types of measuring instruments, such as rules, gauges, calipers, etc. The above description is not all inclusive, but is illustrative of the duties and responsibilities involving basic skills and aptitudes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with hand and power tools

Responsibilities

  • Obtains fixtures, etc. from storage racks and installs by means of cranes, powered truck and/or hand truck.
  • Uses proper tools to set-in, tighten, level and adjust fixtures at correct tolerances for operation of machine.
  • Remove fixtures as required.
  • Uses various types of measuring instruments, such as rules, gauges, calipers, etc.
  • Operates powered truck and/or hand truck as required.
  • May be required to move material in and out of department.
  • From blueprints provided, install fixture in machines and proceed to do a first piece setup and measurement, and adjust as necessary to ensure the part is in print.
  • Uses various measuring instruments such as rules, calipers, straight-edge, squares, compass, scribe, dividers, etc.
  • Operates various machines in department such as bore-mills, drill press, cnc milling machines and lathes as required.
  • Perform random sampling inspection on parts as directed by Supervisor.
  • Unload incoming trucks, check and store iron deliveries.
  • Assist with training new operators.
  • Perform machine preventive maintenance as necessary and required.
  • Refers unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Performs other work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rated labor grades
  • Installs various types of machine fixtures per verbal instructions and/or work requirements
