What You Will Do The position is in Tucson Arizona with responsibilities to lead and manage HWIL activities including the following: Own the execution of long-term strategy and operational direction for HWIL activities that occur in Tucson, Huntsville and potential growth in other geographical areas. Engage with programs to ensure proper engineering rigor throughout the product life cycle, with specific emphasis on development, integration and verification of test environments, and associated processes and execution tasks. Collaborate across domains and with directorate test architects to define optimum test strategies for assigned programs. Support proposals, review basis of estimates (BOE’s) and prepare reviews in support of HWIL tasks. Continuous improvement and enhancement of Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) processes to achieve cycle time and cost reductions. Collaborate with domain Chief Technologists in the resolution of issues, technical resource development and capability roadmaps. Develop partnerships across Raytheon Engineering, Raytheon Technologies, industry, and academia to facilitate strategic capability development. Support business needs through appropriate hiring and staffing. Ensure appropriate staff development through effective performance management including goal setting, career development, training, and developmental task assignments. Provide effective guidance, coaching and leadership to Section Leads for effective execution of the design and development process. Support leadership alignment to define and achieve the strategic vision for the Effectors Center and the SE&TC organization. Provide appropriate staffing of personnel through hiring and utilization of existing skilled staff members to meet program demands and skillset match. Conduct personnel performance development assessments including compensation for merit, awards recognition, and promotions. What You Will Learn Critical Leadership skills driving key initiatives for the Department. Experience working across numerous functions from engineering to finance to supply chain and the Program Office.

Requirements

  • A University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience.
  • Experience with requirements development and testing.
  • Test environment integration and verification experience.
  • Experience with Hardware in the Loop and/or Computer in the Loop simulators/emulators.
  • Recent experience in a technical leadership role with direct reports and/or managing multiple programs/projects.
  • Recent experience in the design lifecycle, integration, test and/or analysis of complex technology systems.
  • Active and transferrable US government issued Secret security clearance (not interim) is required prior to start date.
  • US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Engineering or STEM field
  • Multi-disciplined engineering background providing knowledge of related technologies and products; electronics, firmware, mechanical, software and systems engineering
  • Experience leading cultural and organizational change.
