About The Position

POSITION: SETUP / LEADPERSON REPORTS TO: MANUFACTURING MANAGER SKILLS / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED a.) Without assistance, must be able to set-up and instruct subordinates to set-up, check programs, and operate automatic numerically controlled or manual machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining or grinding operations to meet precise tolerance and finish requirements. b.) Requires accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training together with extensive experience in machine shop practices and techniques plus additional training to acquire a working knowledge of numerically controlled machine tools and operations. c.) Satisfy Class A Machinist requirements. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES a.) Follow all company rules, policies, and procedures. b.) Perform profiling, contour milling, boring, recessing, turning, etc. to the capacity of the machine and controls. c.) Understand program format, work from operational data defining and coding tooling, fixturing, and machine arrangements. d.) Arrange, mount, and secure holding fixtures or locate, support and secure work piece in absence of fixture. e.) Mount, align, and secure tooling in racks, magazine, or turrets. f.) Set stops, calibrate fixture to appropriate stops. g.) Install program tapes, and correlate machine position. h.) Manually cycle machine through operation sequence to check fixture and work position, tooling, clearances, speeds feeds, etc. i.) Adjust machine or console to correct deviations from program specifications. j.) Recognize, report, and work closely with programming personnel to correct errors. k.) Recommend tooling applications and operational sequence to assist in developing practical programming for new and unusual machining requirements. l.) May set up for and instruct machine operators of a lower classification, diagnose operating difficulties and make minor repairs. 2nd shift:3:00-11:00 PM Salary: $25-30 range based on experience Job location: Oak Creek, WI Job Type: Temp to Hire or Direct Hire We are an equal opportunity employer
