About The Position

Summary : Program offers care to patients 24/7 on an on-call basis within the emergency department. The SANE program sees patients of all ages and genders. SANEs must be comfortable practicing autonomously in a patient-centered environment while discussing sensitive topics. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) provide direct care to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, strangulation, and child abuse who present to the emergency departments. Using trauma informed care and forensic nursing, they deliver coordinated, expert forensic and medical care necessary to increased successful prosecution of sex offenders and to assure essential medial intervention to victims of violence. Job Description: Hiring for our next SANE training 4/27/2026-5/1/2026. All candidates must be available to attend this week long local training

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing
• Registered Nurse
• 2 years of direct patient care in an acute setting
• 36 hours of on-call time per month- 12 hours of weekend call required
• Attend quarterly team meetings
• Attend 1 annual education day
• Maintain competency through 6 hours of continuing education per calendar year
• Ability to collaborate with community agencies such as law enforcement and the legal system
• Critical thinking skills working as an autonomous care provider
• Strong independent learner with dedication to maintain and advance professional knowledge
