About The Position

The Sheet Metal Factory Leader responsibilities encompass planning, instructing, directing, and checking the work of Sheet Metal Factory teams. The position is also responsible for Laser operators. This position requires proficient 3D spatial visualization, the ability to modify CNC programs, and the ability to perform operational maintenance on laser cutting equipment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3 or more years of related experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Team Lead & strong communication and effective supervisory skills
  • Ability to assemble sheet metal components, plumbing, motion components, and cast structures
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • 0-5 years of relevant technical work experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Fundamental computer operation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC programming and controls preferred, experience with CNC CAM preferred
  • Preferred requirement – certified to operate a forklift or forklift experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality and delivery of sheet metal manufacturing processes & Manage schedule and records correctly
  • Provides overall leadership to team including developing, motivating, and leading strong, effective teams.
  • Establish consumable material procurement process and Equipment maintenance
  • Communicate and work effectively across multiple teams and departments to achieve production goals
  • Create sheet metal cutting programming, selecting proper cutting programs and fixtures
  • Performing laser cutting operations on steel up to ¼ inch
  • Establishing proper stop location, adjust laser beam parameters & making proper set-ups for cutting
  • Verifying system conditions or equipment status before operation
  • Performing prescribed maintenance (e.g. gas changes, nozzle changes and the nozzle centering operations)
  • Inspecting finished parts to ensure specifications have been met
