About The Position

The Sheet Metal Foreman will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing HVAC projects with precision and excellence. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of ductwork, AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, and other related equipment. The Foreman will lead a team of technicians, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years of HVAC/Sheet Metal fabrication experience
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, team building and process improvement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of duct joint assembly, hanger installation, and anchor systems for ductwork suspension.
  • Proficiency in identifying HVAC equipment types (AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, etc.) and differentiating between low and high-pressure systems.
  • Skilled in the application of duct sealer and proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, details, and submittals.
  • Capability to perform equipment and duct layout, including field modification of sheet metal duct offsets and fittings.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of training less experienced helpers and mechanics and coordinating tasks in the absence of the Foreman.
  • Maintenance of a clean and organized company vehicle.
  • Excellent communication skills, following directives from Project Managers (PM), Construction Managers (CM), and Supervisors.
  • A positive attitude, patience in teaching, dependability, and excellent attendance.
  • Understand and manage project budgets and manhours, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Follow Statement of Work (SOW) directives and install systems according to plans, specifications, and detailed instructions.
  • Provide regular project updates through email, formulate addendums as needed, and coordinate inspections.
  • Assign daily tasks, prepare daily reports, and manage timekeeping for crew members.
  • Develop Daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Safety Analysis (HSA) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Actively work with and assist the crew in all installation tasks, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
