The Sheetmetal JM1 is responsible for fabricating, assembling and installing a wide variety of Components on Navy ship repair and other marine and commercial equipment. These Sheetmetal Components include, but are not limited to, Ventilation Systems, Metal Joiner Bulkheads and Framing, Furniture, Cabinetry, Lockers, Ladders and Handrails, and Wet Spaces. As a Sheetmetal Worker, you will perform work governed by detailed technical work documents and procedural guidelines. Sheetmetal JM1 must possess trade specific tools. The Sheetmetal JM1 must be able to meet and successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The following physical demands are representative to the position. The position is active and requires extensive standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing, and crouching. Along with such movements, employee is required to lift parts/machinery of up to 75 pounds.
