Shift Lead Security Officer - Amsterdam, NY
About The Position
We are currently building a candidate pool for two upcoming Shift Lead openings at a fixed-site warehouse facility in Amsterdam, NY. These roles offer set schedules, consistent hours, and leadership responsibilities within a small overnight/evening team environment. Both positions pay $18.75 per hour. Available Shift Lead Schedules Shift Lead Position 1: Sunday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM (40 hours/week) Shift Lead Position 2: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM (40 hours/week) These opportunities are ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, solid judgment, and the ability to guide others while maintaining a secure and professional environment. What You’ll Do As a Shift Lead, you will perform all standard Security Officer duties plus additional leadership responsibilities. The Lead Officer maintains the security and safety of the client site by supporting and providing their Security Officers clear guidance and leadership. Requirements
- Strong communication and leadership ability
- Dependable, detail‑oriented, and professional
- Comfort with CCTV systems and basic reporting tasks
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Prior security experience preferred

- Supervisory experience a plus (but not required for strong candidates)
Responsibilities
- Control truck and vehicle access; maintain accurate logs
- Monitor CCTV and observe site activity to ensure a safe environment
- Sign in/out visitors, contractors, and authorized personnel
- Complete clear, handwritten reports and documentation
- Follow all established security procedures consistently
- Supervise the onsite team and provide clear direction
- Serve as point of contact for issues, emergencies, or escalations
- Track attendance and confirm timesheets for accuracy
- Provide coaching, support, and performance guidance
- Ensure shift coverage and communicate with management as needed
- Observes and reports activities and incidents, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
- Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
