This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of technicians and engineers, you will build human-rated orbital launch vehicles. Our team is responsible for all Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) for New Glenn stage one. In this role, supported by your shift manager, you will directly (solid-line) lead and supervise technicians and coordinate (dotted-line) additional teammates such as manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, production controllers, schedulers, etc. You will have ultimate and full responsibility for successfully orchestrating your crew and integrating TPS on New Glenn stage one . Special Mentions: Shifts available: 2nd Shift (3pm -1:30am M-Thurs) Interviews will include a technical assessment

Requirements

• Must be able to work 2nd shift (B-Shift) - 2nd shift hours are M-Th 3pm - 1:30am

• Experience as a “front line” leader, working directly with individual contributors in various roles
• Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with constantly evolving roles and responsibilities - to make it all happen - step by step, ferociously
• Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately - in writing, in person, and via video calls with all customers across the New Glenn program
• Digital literacy
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Management, Business, etc.) or 5 years equivalent directly related technical aerospace experience with TPS products and technical operations leadership
• Work wherever, whenever, however best to help your team succeed. This will include extended hours and weekends when vital.
• Occasional remote work and/or flexible schedule is available when possible

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing Self Inspection Certification (MSI) in TPS application
• Aerospace Technician or Airframe & Power Plant certification/Licence
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and coordination skills
• Continuous improvement mentality. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving
• Curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
• Lean certification
• Advanced degree, certification, and/or equivalent training
• Experience in new product introduction
• Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
• Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicles
• Experience in assembly, integration, and handling of large products
• Experience in integrating RTV, Cork applications, as well as vacuum bagging and integration of other types of Thermal Protection Systems (TPS)

• Build and lead a high-performing team, integrating- TPS on large aerospace primary structures and sub assemblies
• Guide teammates and ensure that each person has everything necessary to succeed
• Champion continued learning and growth to attract, develop, and retain great people
• Conduct regular check-ins to ensure team member performance, fulfillment, and growth
• Author job descriptions, screen candidates, and conduct interviews. Make hiring recommendations
• Develop and implement process, efficiency, and safety improvements
• Prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals
