Summary: Responsible for packing, shipping, and receiving all materials to and from the facility.

Requirements

Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
High School Degree or G.E.D
3+ years of experience in shipping and receiving or a manufacturing/warehouse environment

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word)
Ability to travel domestically – 5% max

Responsibilities

Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet necessary specifications
Use a computer to identify customers shipping and packaging requirements
Utilize work instructions to determine the method of shipment, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
Compare identifying information, count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and/or outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on packages
Stamps, stencils, or glues any identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
Route items to the appropriate departments
Exam outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
Maintain the inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required.
