About The Position

A Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be a Citizen of the United States of America or have a current Green Card
  • General knowledge of anodize terminology
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure safety and quality
  • General computer skills and the ability to work with basic computer programs
  • Ability to balance workload effectively and stay organized
  • Ability to read and understand processes, procedures, and instructions
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others respectfully and professionally
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual, work overtime as needed
  • Lift up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 30 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to use hand tools requiring using fine dexterity and precision
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and bending for 8 hours as the position requires
  • Ability to withstand occasional odors

Responsibilities

  • Ensures company standards for safety, quality and customer satisfaction are met or exceeded
  • Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area at all times and notifies leaders when potential concerns arise
  • Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, processing orders into Arrow Flow, and distributing packages and other goods throughout the facility
  • Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from cars, trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy
  • Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments
  • Properly handles hazardous chemicals and their placement to ensure compliance and the safety of others
  • Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required
  • Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions
  • Prepares bills of lading as needed
  • Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage
  • Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed
  • Maintain the warehouse area through organizing, cleaning and cataloging inventory as needed
  • Schedule shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments
  • Trouble shoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to resolve
  • Place customer product in warehouse by packing, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ensure all visitors sign in and follow ITAR protocols
  • Answer and direct phone calls related to all shipping and receiving needs
  • Other related duties as assigned
