About The Position

The packager securely packs materials, items, and parts that are to be delivered to dealers and/or end-users as well as various items being delivered with the radiators. The package will accomplish these assigned tasks by utilizing various schedules as well as by the direction of the Supervisor. The packager obtains the items and parts on the plant grounds with industrial lift trucks and other material handling equipment. The packager receives specific work assignments under general supervision and resolves most problems with limited to no supervisory assistance. The packager must always use extreme care when operating equipment and is expected to practice and adhere to the Company’s Six Sigma principles. As a packager, you’ll be the final set of hands to ensure our products are packaged securely, labeled accurately, and shipped promptly. Your attention to detail and efficiency will directly impact on customer satisfaction, brand reputation, and the smooth flow of our operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand schedules, job requirements, shop drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment including lift trucks, power hoists, cranes, etc.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
  • 3-5 years of material handler experience with stand-up and sit down; computer literacy.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Related technical training (high school or beyond) is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews job orders (written or verbal) and determines schedules based on availability.
  • Loads/unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves or into or from trucks.
  • Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent in-transit movement or damage.
  • Assembles crates for radiators and pallets for material/product storage and/or shipment.
  • Cleans and maintains work area (daily), material handling equipment and other tools/equipment.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times.
  • Ensures that all work is done in accordance with and adheres to IEA’s ISO and Quality standards.
  • Reasonable accommodation may be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
  • Inspect items for quality, ensuring no defects or damage before shipment.
  • Weigh, label, and seal packages for shipping using scales, label printers, and sealing equipment.
  • Organize and stage outgoing shipments for carrier pickup.
  • Assist with receiving and unpacking incoming shipments when needed.
  • Crating units as required by customers.
  • Hands on tools like (Drill, Sawzall, Tape Measure, Hammers, Table Saw, etc...).
