About The Position

Job Summary: The Shipping Coordinator ships product and materials based on Company and customer specifications. Leads the following activities related to the Materials Department: shipping dock and Pick and Pack. Provides floor support for all activities related to the assigned materials team. Monitors and facilitates efficient throughput in the Materials Department

Requirements

  • Relative Work Experience: 2-5 years of experience in shipping. Knowledge of logistics, third party logistics providers (3PL), material handling or inventory control preferred.
  • Education: HS diploma required.
  • Computer Systems / Software: Microsoft Office, MRP, ERP, UPS World Ship, FedEx Shipping, and Transportation Management System preferred.

  • Provides excellent customer service with all interactions.
  • Monitor workload and order completion for Pick and Pack. May redirect Pick and Pack workflow based on business need.
  • Will be involved in lean and 6S implementation team. Must be flexible, able to work under high pace and changing conditions.
  • Organizes/prioritizes/directs shipping dock employees.
  • Reviews system generated messages.
  • Determines the best shipping methods using approved carriers to ship product and schedules shipments with approved freight carriers and/or third-party logistics provider.
  • Manages bills of lading, packing slips, and customs paperwork for shipments.
  • Accurately receives customer units into finish goods inventory.
  • Picks PO when necessary to enable correct messaging to Purchasing Department.
  • Interfaces with customer service and planning on priority shipments and international shipping documentation (including skid capacities and shipping costs) and communicates any issues that will impact on-time shipments to customers. Ensures accuracy of shipment matches international paperwork.
  • Process shipments according to Dangerous Goods Requirements.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with other internal departments.
  • Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carrier. Coordinates inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities.
  • Provides clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations.
  • Responsible for inter-departmental and inter facility transport of goods.
  • Reviews device history record paperwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
