About The Position
Specified Technologies Inc. (STI) is the industry technology leader in firestopping products. Established in 1990 and headquartered in Somerville, New Jersey, STI has grown to serve multiple markets and geographies. With approximately 230 employees, the company is committed to innovation, safety, and performance in passive fire protection. This role is based at our Burlington, New Jersey Warehouse and follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Role Description We’re seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate who will be responsible for the accurate and timely shipment, receipt, and tracking of all products, materials, and supplies. This role supports daily warehouse operations by unloading deliveries, stocking inventory, preparing outbound shipments, and maintaining accurate records. The position requires close coordination with logistics, customer service, vendors, and drivers to ensure efficient material flow and high service standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS preferred)
- Experience with FedEx/UPS shipping processes
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, inspect, sort, and stock inbound shipments
- Pick, pack, label, and load outbound shipments
- Track, trace, and update shipment status for inbound and outbound orders
- Maintain accurate inventory records, log sheets, and proof of delivery
- Create packing slips, delivery receipts, load tags, and address labels
- Schedule trucks and manage dock scheduling systems
- Expedite priority inbound materials as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Provide backup support to shipping and receiving operations
