About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving position is critical to ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within a company’s supply chain. This role involves managing the receipt, inspection, and proper storage of incoming shipments, as well as preparing and dispatching outgoing orders in a timely manner. The individual will collaborate closely with warehouse staff, logistics providers, and internal departments to maintain inventory accuracy and support operational workflows. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and compliance standards are essential to prevent errors and damage to products. Ultimately, this role contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring that shipments are processed correctly and delivered on schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software or databases.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely, typically up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment with valid certification.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning technology and electronic data interchange (EDI) systems.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Organize and store received goods in designated warehouse locations, maintaining proper inventory records.
  • Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely transportation of goods.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and reporting any hazards or discrepancies.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to update stock levels and track shipment statuses.
  • Assist in conducting regular inventory audits and resolving any discrepancies found during stock counts.
