We have an immediate opening for a Shipping Supervisor at our Walterboro, SC location. This is an onsite position from Monday through Friday. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and shipping operations within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the safe, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and finished goods while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor leads warehouse personnel, coordinates with production and logistics partners, and drives efficiency, quality, and accountability across all warehouse activities. Work is performed independently under the general direction of the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • An individual with a high school diploma or GED.
  • An individual with 3–5 years of experience in warehouse or shipping operations.
  • An individual with 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • An individual with a working knowledge of inventory control, shipping documentation, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • An individual with a strong understanding of safety practices and material handling equipment.
  • An individual who is able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and is able to interact in a professional manner with others gaining their respect and confidence.
  • An individual who is able to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • An individual who has flexibility to work extended hours - such as weekend or evening hours - if business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • An individual with experience in regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of shipping HAZ materials is also preferred.
  • An individual with experience with sea and air freight container scheduling and import/export knowledge is preferred.
  • An individual with forklift certification or ability to obtain certification is preferred.
  • An individual with experience using ERP systems and barcode scanning technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities to ensure on-time and accurate fulfillment of production and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including carrier scheduling, dock assignments, and shipment documentation.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
  • Support production by ensuring materials are staged, issued, and replenished in alignment with production schedules.
  • Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and shipping personnel, including assignment of duties and performance management.
  • Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Support FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices and batch traceability requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and material shortages.
  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Ensure proper use of material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the warehouse and dock areas.
  • Support quality and regulatory requirements applicable to the manufacturing environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, workflows, and material flow.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, efficiency, cost reduction, and service levels.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time shipments and inventory accuracy.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between warehouse, production, and customer service teams.
  • Communicate staffing needs, operational challenges, and performance updates to management.
  • Collaborate with transportation providers and third-party logistics partners as needed.
