About The Position

Hands-on member of the team, including tasks such as packaging/labeling of fabrics, forklift operation, computer training (SAP), loading/unloading trucks, phone/people skills and delivering received supplies. Responsible for ordering shipping inventory (labels, banding, cores, steel poles, H-channel, etc.) and completing monthly inventory audits. Execution of department priorities on shift Create and sustain a safe and productive work environment for team members on shift. Provide support, assistance and communicate to team members. Act as conduit of information from floor employees to leadership.   SAFETY AND PROCEDURES ·  Follow all applicable safety policies/procedures. ·  Verify all safety policies/procedures are being implemented and followed on shift. ·  Use appropriate PPE for identified job tasks and ensure it is available and being used by department personnel on shift. ·  Attend and participate in all safety training and the safety observation program. ·  Report all safety hazards observed. ·   Understand and assist with the completion of JSA tables for any incidents within the department.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ·  Works professionally with drivers to coordinate safe loading/unloading practice and docking procedures. ·  Communicate any issues/updates to other Team Leads and/or department leadership ·  Act as point-of-contact for any issues on shift and direct appropriate resources to the issue ·  Conduct connective checking ·  Ensure area board is updated ·  Coach employees on any performance issues and report ongoing/serious incidents to Area Manager ·  Has the authority to send an employee home for a serious incident ·  Complete temporary transfer checklists ·  Establish daily priorities and expectations ·  Point of contact for NEMA, Sonoco, and FVWP shipments. ·  Maintain production schedule as established on virtual board ·  Maintain safety program/initiatives/BBS entries ·  Attend Team Lead Meetings ·  Ensure quality and consistency of products Ability to effectively communicate and delegate tasks ·  Deal with quality situations as they arise and report to Area Manager for root cause analysis ·  Operate overhead hoist, forklift and various banding equipment ·  Report all breakdowns to maintenance (IW21s) ·  Directly work with planning and CSR’s to coordinate special trucking and arrangement of export shipments. ·  SAP production reporting ·  Assist with 6S audits ·  Assign tasks to shifts ·  Understand the incident reporting process ·  Act as a go-to person in emergency situations ·  Complete daily safety checklists ·  Assess parking lot conditions midway through shift during winter weather ·  Perform essential job functions of a shipper ·  Reads, understands and is committed to conducting business in accordance to Albany International’s Business Ethics Policy.  All business of the company should, at all times, be conducted ethically, fairly, honestly and with integrity

Requirements

  • Manual skills
  • Basic computer skills w/ 1 yr. of SAP experience preferred
  • Lead by example
