Looking for a rewarding career with a company that values people, growth, sustainability, and teamwork? Join our Bennettsville team as a Shipping Technician! This role is on a Monday-Friday- 1 week 1st shift (7am-3pm) followed by 1 week on 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Flexible availability, including overtime and temporary schedule changes.
  • Must learn and perform both Rail and Truck Dock positions.
  • Strong math skills required.
  • Forklift driving and rail mapping experience preferred.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and by e-mail
  • Experience loading trucks with a forklift
  • Minimum of 1 year Forklift experience required (within past 5 years)
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment (cold/hot)
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs throughout a working shift
  • ability to work a rotating shift

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload trucks, railcars, boxcars, and preloads to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
  • Prepare shipments according to customer orders, including wrapping flats, building blocks, and blocking/strapping vans when required.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality and damage and verify shipment contents against tickets and documentation.
  • Scan load tickets and confirm products are loaded accurately before shipment.
  • Check in incoming trucks, communicate loading procedures, and assist drivers and callers with shipping-related questions.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including customs paperwork for international orders as needed.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently while maintaining current forklift certification.
  • Keep forklifts clean, inspected, and properly maintained.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized loading areas, docks, warehouse spaces, rail tracks, and parking areas.
  • Diagram boxcars, bill export cars, inspect railcars for damage, clean out boxcars, and maintain required railroad records and move orders.
  • Perform general warehouse duties such as pulling samples, storing materials, unloading supplies, housekeeping, and trash removal.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts while following company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
