About The Position

Shop Foreman is responsible of overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a shop. He/She is responsible for managing the shop floor, supervising technicians, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Your strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities will contribute to the success of the shop’s productivity and the satisfaction of our customers.

Requirements

  • More than 5 years of experience with advanced certifications or manufacture specific training.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and expertise in automotive, machinery, or relevant mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Sound decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed judgments and handle unexpected situations or challenges.
  • Able to anticipate and understand customers’ needs and provide viable solutions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive or manufacture training.
  • Willing to obtain on the job training and certifications as needed.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably within an automotive service department.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Monitor and review the progress of work orders, ensuring that deadlines are met, and any issues or delays are promptly addressed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed repairs to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues or problems, providing technical expertise and guidance to technicians.
  • Ensure operation of shop tools and equipment, manage repairs and maintenance when necessary.
  • Ensure Technician training is up to date, recommend technicians for promotion and ensure that there are no gaps in technical training.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair projects, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are available and utilized efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and clean working environment for both employees and customers.
  • Collaborate with other departments or teams, such as parts procurement or customer service, to facilitate smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills to improve shop operations.
  • Will perform duties as Service Manager when needed.
