About The Position

The Axle Shop Helper is responsible for axle prep by cleaning and inspecting axles to meet TeraFlex quality and performance standards. This role requires general shop experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment producing off-road and performance axle assemblies.

Requirements

Grinders, saws, and basic fabrication tools.
Comfortable using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and calipers.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing/shop environment.
Comfortable wearing PPE and working around loud machinery, sparks, and fumes.

Nice To Haves

Prior welding or fabrication experience in manufacturing, automotive, or heavy equipment environments is a plus but not required
Previous general shop experience a plus

Responsibilities

Axle Prep Clean, Inspect, de-burr axles
Maintain a smooth work flow through the axle process
General shop labor (entry level)
Inspect welds for quality, strength, penetration, and appearance to meet TeraFlex specifications.
Identify defects such as porosity, distortion, or misalignment and perform corrective action as needed.
Work closely with quality and production teams to ensure finished assemblies meet standards.
Assist with axle housing assembly, component fit-up
Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and shop equipment to complete fabrication tasks.
Support production flow by meeting schedule and throughput requirements.
Follow work instructions and safety guidelines.
Accurately complete production documentation and job travelers.
Communicate issues related to materials, fixtures, or weld quality to supervision.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Properly use PPE and follow all shop safety requirements.
Safely operate shop equipment; forklift or overhead crane use may be required (training provided).
