About The Position

Red-D-Arc an Airgas Company is Hiring a Shop Helper at our Charlotte NC Branch. Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the incumbent will service and maintain equipment, ensure a clean working environment and assist other technicians in the shop as needed. Equipment includes gas/diesel welders and generators, electrical inverter and transformer based machines, plasma cutters, and electrical/mechanical positioning equipment. Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines. Ensures a safe work environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines. Test and calibrate machines to see if they are functional for rent or sale. Repaint parts, touch up paint, and put decals on welders to keep up the general appearance. Replace defective parts and do any preventative maintenance required. Get parts as required in order to complete repairs. Inspect returned equipment for proper operation and /or damage by the customer. Operate a forklift, pallet jack or other necessary equipment to move machines and equipment in the shop. Maintains communication with all branch personnel. Performs other related operational/shop duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
