About The Position

Fairbank is a leading supplier of Agriculture and Propane parts and equipment, with 14 locations throughout the Midwest and Northwest. Fairbank has done "Whatever It Takes" to provide exceptional service and product knowledge to our loyal customers for over 75 years. We are seeking a motivated Shop Manager at our Stockton, California. This position will report directly to the branch manager. Responsibilities The Shop Manager oversees the daily production of light-to-medium duty trailers, ensuring all units are built to high-quality standards. This role involves leading a team of welders, assemblers, and fabricators to meet aggressive production schedules and customer delivery dates. Working manager position. This position requires a manager who will participate in hands on physical labor in the day-to-day activities of the shop as necessary. Hands on experience with mechanics, welding, fabrication and assembly. Extensive experience with pumps, plumbing and spray application systems. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the shop. Schedule and assign jobs and tasks to all shop personnel Proficient computer skills required. (Word, Excel, ability to learn our operating system) Open, update, maintain and close all shop work orders Manage and keep track of finished trailer inventory Responsible for maintaining stocking levels for all manufacturing materials to support production schedule. Ensure all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good order. Maintain superior customer relations and ensure quality work is being performed to customers’ expectations. Must be able to work closely with all other departments and managers. Qualification / Skills A great “whatever it takes” attitude! Proven experience leading and managing a team Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, multi-task, organize and prioritize work. Knowledge or skills in the welding field. Proven experience in shop management and trailer manufacturing Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with computers utilizing Microsoft Windows and related applications. Proven experience in shop work order management. Basic understanding of financial principles Ability to work for long periods of time while standing. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift safely and easily. High School degree or GED required Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
