About The Position

We are HIRING NOW for a highly skilled Shop Supervisor. This individual will be responsible for overseeing machine shop operations that support the repair and servicing of complex industrial and rotating equipment. This role supports work tied to industrial facilities, marine environments, pumps, and other high-precision mechanical systems. If you are a hands-on leader with deep machining knowledge and strong organizational skills, we want to hear from you. This role has full responsibility for shop operations, safety, quality, scheduling, and personnel oversight.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a machine shop environment
  • Master machinist background with strong knowledge of precision machining techniques
  • Strong knowledge of lathes, milling machines, VBM, HBM, and related equipment
  • Ability to read and develop drawings from verbal descriptions or sketches
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to work with customers, sales teams, and engineers
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for job or sales support

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary shop point of contact for internal teams, customers, and time-sensitive job needs
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the machine shop
  • Plan, schedule, assign, and prioritize work for machinists and service personnel
  • Oversee repair and servicing of industrial rotating and mechanical equipment
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders
  • Inspect work in progress and completed jobs to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain clean, organized shop conditions
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, and customers regarding work scope and timelines
  • Estimate machine time, materials, and labor requirements
  • Maintain accurate records, schedules, and repair documentation
  • Train, evaluate, and provide feedback to shop employees
  • Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for shop equipment and tooling
  • This is a hands-on leadership role and will require operating machining equipment as workload and expertise dictate
