What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking For Schedule: 40 hours per week during Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. Summers off. This is a Part-time position currently funded at .76 FTE (approximately 1,580 hour per year). Work Modality: On-site. This a recruitment to fill the open PM Orange Line Shuttle Route: Monday–Thursday: 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. This schedule includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Please note that route assignments are not permanent. Assignments are reviewed and may change on a yearly basis through the established seniority and bid process, or sooner if operational circumstances require a re-bid. Details: Provides safe, reliable, courteous, and efficient bus transportation service to all members of the PCC community. Actively monitors traffic conditions to ensure road safety while remaining attentive to the overall environment on the shuttle bus. This role requires daily interaction with the public in a variety of situations and may involve working independently with minimal direct supervision while on route. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with minimum of six months experience in public service.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s license for operation of motor vehicle and have an acceptable driving record including five years of accident free driving, with no recent moving violations.
  • Must be able to pass a personal and criminal history background check.
  • Must pass a physical examination and submit to periodic drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a shuttle bus while delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Experience conducting routine safety inspections to ensure vehicle compliance and readiness.
  • Experience communicating accurate and timely information to customers.
  • Experience preparing and delivering clear verbal and written reports to supervisors regarding job status and any operational concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe, reliable, courteous, and efficient bus transportation service to all members of the PCC community.
