About The Position

The Shuttle Operations Manager will focus on the Hospital Employee Shuttle Program. Responsibilities for this include managing the Shuttle Driver Team and maintaining position coverage at all times for all scheduled routes, maintaining Team Member uniform compliance at all times, and Team Member safety practices throughout the Shuttle Program and in our Parking Operations on the campus at large. The Operations Manager must always aim to exceed the expectations of the client, employees, patients and guests. The Operations Manager must ensure that all responsibilities are exceeding expectations. Schedule: Mon – Fri 7 AM – 4 PM with some days 9 AM – 6 PM to be able to meet with all team members during the week

Requirements

  • Must have valid CDL license with Passenger Endorsement
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred
  • 5 years Management experience required, Transportation experience preferred
  • Be trained in/teach Smith System to all drivers
  • Proven experience in fleet management, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards for passenger transportation.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using fleet management software and other relevant tools.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Strong customer service background
  • Ability to effectively communicate with client and VPNE management
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of employees, as well as motivate and provide constructive feedback
  • Strong administrative skills; including proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Capable of handling a range of employee relations issues and follow progressive steps of discipline
  • Function independently within company guidelines
  • Must be proactive, customer focused and responsive

Responsibilities

  • Drive VPNE Business and Build VPNE Brand by driving our client’s business and building their brand
  • Oversee the complete day-to-day operations of multiple locations
  • Manage over 35 direct report CDL drivers
  • Work closely with VPNE Operations Director to ensure operations’ standards and procedures are being executed correctly and efficiently
  • Uses client’s objectives to exceed client’s expectations
  • Oversee and maintain records of driver’s training
  • Enhance VPNE’s culture by treating your team exceptionally well and contributing to our goal which is to be “the employer of choice for shuttling programs”
  • Enhance VPNE appearance and service delivery.
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure various policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations are being correctly implemented
  • Fully understand and utilizes the systems VPNE uses to drive and control revenue streams
  • Ensures VPNE safety standards and procedures are being strictly maintained at each location
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and coordinates maintenance contractors to ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements
  • Ensures prompt investigation and resolution of complaints and incidents as relates to service delivery and in compliance with VPNE and client’s policy
  • Ensure daily trip edit log is completed accurately and timely
  • Ensure all safety regulations are being observed, and all training methods are adequate and effective
  • Effectively forecast and budget for all shuttle related expenditures
  • Maintain an impressive relationship with our client on location to promote VPNE brand
  • Assist and organize all related events, in regards to shuttle services
  • Schedule of Mon – Fri 7 AM – 4 PM with some days 9 AM – 6 PM to be able to meet with all team members during the week
  • Leadership; coaching with kindness; dealing with different age demographics and coaching/mentoring accordingly
  • Collaborate with maintenance manager on fleet status/repairs/maintenance so that we are compliant in our client service contracts
  • Any other jobs duties as dictated by Hospital General Manager
