About The Position

We are seeking experienced Simulation Operators / Simulation Technicians to support the U.S. Army Mission Simulation Center at the Fires Center of Excellence in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This position provides operational and technical support for immersive military training simulations using the Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT III) and Virtual Battlespace (VBS3) systems. Simulation Operators support realistic, scenario-based training used to prepare soldiers and leaders for joint fires, targeting, and operational decision-making.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum seven years of military experience in Fire Support operations, targeting, or a related operational field, or equivalent experience working at a military simulation center.
  • Minimum one year of experience operating CFFT III or comparable immersive training systems.
  • Minimum one year of experience supporting training exercises using VBS3 or similar simulation platforms.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active SECRET security clearance required or the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to work within secure government facilities and comply with Department of Defense security requirements.
  • Personnel must maintain professional conduct, adhere to military installation policies, and maintain a professional appearance while working with soldiers, instructors, and government personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Army training environments or simulation centers.
  • Experience supporting Joint Fires Observer, Forward Observer, or Fire Support Team training.
  • Experience with simulation mission editors, scripting tools, or scenario development.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain CFFT III immersive simulators and VBS3 systems to support scheduled Army training events, including configuring simulation environments, developing scenarios, launching and managing exercises, and making real-time adjustments during training.
  • Support classroom and hands-on training by assisting instructors, guiding trainees on system operation and training objectives, and helping conduct after-action reviews and collect training feedback.
  • Serve as role-players during training events by simulating battlefield entities such as pilots, commanders, fire support personnel, intelligence assets, and other operational roles, including supporting Close Air Support training through simulated aircraft communications and role-player injects.
  • Monitor training execution, document system usage and training data, and provide and collect critique sheets following training events.
  • Perform routine system checks and assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of simulation hardware, software updates, and system patches.
  • Assist instructors and training developers with scenario development and updates to Programs of Instruction, lesson plans, and training support packages.
  • Support capability demonstrations, facility tours, and briefings on simulation systems when required, while maintaining simulation equipment and work areas in an organized and operational condition.
