About The Position

The Senior Consultant – Network Platform Engineer is a senior individual contributor within the SRE / Platform organization, acting as a technical authority for cloud, hybrid, and global network architecture, reliability, and operations . This role is responsible for designing, evolving, and supporting network platforms that interconnect cloud environments, physical datacenters, and external providers in a secure, scalable, and resilient manner. This position requires deep expertise in Azure networking , with active responsibility for AWS networking , physical datacenters , and datacenter service providers . While network engineering is the core focus, experience with platform and cloud disciplines is considered a strong advantage. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Cloud networking on Public Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS)
  • Hybrid and multi‑cloud network architectures, including connectivity between cloud and physical datacenters
  • Network services such as routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, and traffic management
  • Infrastructure as Code for network resources (e.g., Terraform)
  • Proven background in Network Engineering, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles, acting as a technical reference for network design and reliability.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Designing global network architectures and topologies for scalability, resilience, security, and performance
  • Connectivity models between cloud providers, datacenters, and external partners
  • Network observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting in large‑scale environments
  • Incident management concepts and on-call operations related to network services
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating Kubernetes platforms (networking, ingress, service exposure, or connectivity)
  • Exposure to Platform Engineering or DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and GitOps models
  • Familiarity with broader cloud disciplines beyond networking (compute, security, observability)

Responsibilities

  • Network Architecture & Global Topology
  • Design and evolve global network topologies spanning Azure, AWS, physical datacenters, and third‑party providers.
  • Define scalable, resilient, and secure network architecture patterns for hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
  • Act as a technical reference for routing strategies, segmentation, connectivity models, and traffic flows.
  • Cloud & Datacenter Networking
  • Own the design and evolution of network components, including:
  • Virtual networks, subnets, routing, and traffic control
  • Load balancing, ingress/egress, and DNS
  • Connectivity between cloud environments and physical datacenters
  • Work directly with datacenter providers, carriers, and network vendors to design and operate connectivity.
  • Reliability & Operational Excellence
  • Ensure network platforms meet availability, performance, and resiliency requirements.
  • Apply SRE principles to networking, including redundancy, fault isolation, graceful degradation, and capacity planning.
  • Proactively identify risks and single points of failure across global network topologies.
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code
  • Drive network automation through Infrastructure as Code and standardized deployment patterns.
  • Define and evolve automated provisioning, configuration, and validation for network resources.
  • Reduce manual network operations and operational risk.
  • Incident Management & On‑Call
  • Participate in on-call rotations as a senior escalation point for network-related incidents.
  • Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis for complex network failures.
  • Drive improvements from post‑incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
  • Cross‑Discipline Collaboration
  • Collaborate with platform, Kubernetes, security, and application teams to ensure network designs support platform and workload needs.
