About The Position

Barra's SRE team is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation and availability of the platform for our global client base. To keep up with the expectations of our clients and our growing business, we work towards a platform which is easier to manage and proactively support using improved automation, observability and tooling. We are responsible for fielding queries from internal and external teams, and are deeply involved with incident management including initial analysis, root cause write up and follow up tasks to close any gaps identified. We partner with a wide variety of other teams from infrastructure and engineering, to QA and business teams, so strong collaborative instincts and clear communication skills from a key part of our toolset. As well at the wider responsibilities of the team, the successful candidate will have responibilities for end to end process improvements and looking ahead to help shape the platform for the next phase of its life.

Requirements

  • Java, SQL (MS and Oracle), Python and other scripting languages are all in use, so are a prerequisite.
  • Thorough knowledge of kubernetes, rancher, and broader cloud concepts is essential.
  • Strong fintech experience to ensure candidates understand the motivations and pressures of out clients, and is able to operate at the right pace with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
  • Curiosity, excellent problem solving and organisational skills are critical for all members of our team
