About The Position

The Site Safety Manager oversees and enforces all safety measures during both the planning and execution phases of construction projects. The role requires strong leadership, extensive U.S. domestic travel, and a commitment to ensuring job sites are planned and executed as safely as possible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in occupational health and safety, management, and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role.
  • OSHA 510 Construction Standards
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Valid TWIC Card
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens
  • Silica Competent Person Training
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Negative 10 panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Ability to maintain active status in DISA with a score of 2 or less.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current with federal and state occupational safety regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate health and safety hazards.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safe work processes (JSAs, THAs, Safe Work Procedures) in compliance with OBR and customer EHS standards.
  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, site-specific safety plans, and audit/inspection reports.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations; monitor and report near-miss situations.
  • Support and mentor on-site safety coordinators; perform Site Safety Coordinator duties as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers to create safety procedures for specialized tasks.
  • Facilitate site-specific programs, including behavior-based safety (PIP) and fit-for-duty/return-to-work policies.
  • Provide expertise in OSHA compliance, accident investigations, and regulatory/licensing requirements.
  • Partner with OBR Safety leadership, project management, superintendents, foremen, and customer EHS groups to exceed expectations.
  • Deliver weekly/monthly safety reports and continuously improve project safety culture.
  • Manage disciplinary records and contribute to OBR’s overall risk and safety strategy.
  • Oversee safe work procedures on a job site.
  • Inspect safety equipment.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations.
  • On board new employees; full safety orientation and handbook orientation.
  • Teach OBR Fall Protection Training.
