About The Position

Steamboat Resort is looking for new ski patrol team members for the 2026/2027 Winter Season. We will be hosting a Ski Patrol Hiring/Skiing Clinic on March 29th at 8:00am. Please submit an application here in order to participate. If contacted, you will meet at the Timber & Torch restaurant with your boots on and ready to ski. All participants must be expert level skiers, telemarkers or snowboarders and able to handle all terrain in any condition.

Requirements

  • 2 years of previous work history/education required
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Candidates will need to be currently certified and able to present proof of either of the following – Colorado certified EMT or Outdoor Emergency Care and CPR- prior to employment
  • Must have valid drivers license and meet insurability standards
  • Must be able to operate a snowmobile in a safe manner and be knowledgeable of safe and operating procedures after training
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations and possess excellent public relations/communications skills
  • Ability to adhere to all safety policies
  • Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards
  • Must be able to speak and understand the English language and able to hear clearly with or without a hearing device
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 25lbs on a regular basis; periodically lift up to 50lbs with assistance
  • Must be an expert level skier, telemarker or snowboarder and able to ski/ride in a safe manner

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for skier education
  • Respond to emergency situations at the ski area and administer first aid to injured individuals
  • Responsible for assisting in patrolling the ski area boundaries
  • Assist with clearing ski lift areas as directed, sweeping of trails to ensure that all skiers are down at the end of the day
  • Assist with ski and boot packing of the ski area as directed
  • Responsible for assisting with the construction and maintenance of barriers
  • Assist with crowd control as directed
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
