About The Position
As a Skilled Laborer (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 25), you play vital role in maintaining the airport and its surrounding areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment. By repairing infrastructure, conducting landscaping tasks, and removing debris, you enhance the appearance and functionality of the airport. Through your diligent efforts in emergency response and wildlife control, you contribute to the safety and smooth operations of Massport. With a commitment to excellence and attention to detail, you actively support Massport's mission of delivering outstanding service to passengers, airlines, and the community.
Requirements
- Massachusetts CDL B required; Class A preferred.
- Ability to read and demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical and manual skills including the ability to operate machinery.
Responsibilities
- Repair water lines, sewers, fire hydrants, valves, and structures, while also performing minor repairs, carpentry, painting, and basic maintenance tasks.
- Handle groundskeeping and beautification duties, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, flower planting, debris removal, painting, and sidewalk sweeping.
- Respond to emergencies according to airport protocols, acting as a member of the first response team to ensure a safe environment.
