About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Account Executive with a strong experience in selling into SLED (State, Local Government, and Education) customers. This role will manage and grow an existing book of business, focusing on long-term account expansion and outcome-based selling. The ideal candidate understands public-sector procurement, contract vehicles, and purchasing cycles, and brings technical sales experience in enterprise networking and security solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience, with a proven focus on SLED customers (education, state, or local government)
  • Strong understanding of SLED procurement rules, purchasing cycles, and contract vehicles
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing an existing book of public-sector accounts
  • Experience selling complex, solution-based offerings
  • Ability to articulate and deliver business outcomes aligned to customer goals
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Must have a headhunter mentality

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Experience in Aruba Networks, Fortinet, and/or Verkada solutions
  • Experience selling networking, security, and infrastructure solutions
  • Proven success selling MRR and ARR-based offerings
  • Existing relationships within Orange County SLED organizations
  • Experience managing multi-county territories

Responsibilities

  • Manage, retain, and expand an established portfolio of SLED customers across Orange County, with select accounts in Riverside and Los Angeles Counties
  • Build trusted relationships with IT leadership, administrators, procurement, and executive stakeholders
  • Navigate SLED procurement rules, purchasing processes, and compliance requirements
  • Effectively leverage contract vehicles (state contracts, cooperatives, master agreements) to accelerate sales cycles
  • Drive adoption of MRR and ARR-based solutions, focusing on long-term customer value
  • Position solutions around measurable business outcomes, not just products
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to achieve revenue growth targets
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and CRM hygiene
  • Collaborate with sales engineering, customer success, and partner teams to ensure successful implementations and renewals
