About The Position

This role will support expanding company’s SLED business and the focus would be on increasing company’s brand awareness, bringing in new logos, securing procurement contracts, and identifying “new” vendor solutions to sell into existing accounts. The objective of this role is focused on marketing and selling into the SLED market, managing multiple strategic SLED opportunities across 40+ offices in the United States and Canada utilizing existing Inside Sales and Field Office Account Management resources to expand the business, both internally and externally (company offices and end-user customers).

Requirements

  • Background in collaboration and audio/visual solutions.
  • Knowledge of how to sell in the Education and Local Government verticals.
  • History of responding to RFP’s, Grants, Contracts and Bids.
  • Ability to understand and leverage existing Company systems to provide solutions to the business and recommend new systems when required
  • Proven ability to significantly contribute toward or lead operation initiatives with a results oriented approach
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and structured problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related field required
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years’ related sales management experience preferably in the Audio Visual or Construction industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with market analysis and strategies, and market research and development practices preferred
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing business processes and streamlining operations

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Experience in business/strategic planning and execution, including diligence, acquisition and integration a plus (International experience is desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conceptualize innovative ideas/ways to increase SLED business such as collaborating with University School Systems, Statewide Telehealth & Distance Learning/Workforce Development Initiatives, and other collaboration markets,
  • Develop clear and effective communication to our internal and external customers that is timely, focused, and accurate, with a focus on innovation.
  • Training and onboarding for new sales personnel, training on contract vehicles and bids, working with partners for product training and awareness.
  • Local mapping of target accounts/contracts and development of SLED-specific action plans for each regional territory including the identification and penetration of new market segments, attainment of target accounts, and attainment of the appropriate procurement vehicles.
  • Sales reporting and analysis for North America
  • Augment lead-generation in tandem with Corporate Marketing for each territory where company holds a state or cooperative purchasing contract.
  • Generate new SLED business by preparing marketing strategies & implementing them in coordination with company corporate and Internet Marketing Departments
  • Develop competitive sales strategies for deeper market penetration
  • Responsible for executing territory office SLED business plans and meeting revenue expansion targets
  • Presenting to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, webinars and virtual meeting room campaigns
  • Actively and successfully manage the sales process including lead generation, developing solution pitch, negotiation of contracts, closing deals; handover to the operations team for fulfillment
  • Maintain an open line of sight into SLED sellers’ business funnel and target accounts
  • Identify tools needed/leveraged by sales for successful tracking and ROI achievement.
