About The Position

Assists in meeting daily production goals by operating equipment and working in various departments according to Supervisor assignment.   Departmental work instructions to be followed.  This is considered a special skills position and the successful Utility candidate needs to meet the required education, training and experience and also have dependable work performance, reliable attendance, and minimal disciplinary issues and get along well with others.

Requirements

  • Safety and environmental training
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license.
  • Annual hazardous waste/scrap management training.
  • Ability to obtain Manlift License.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management.
  • Familiar with inspection equipment, gauges and measuring tools

Responsibilities

  • Understand and practice safety and environmental rules.
  • Perform multiple tasks in various departments based on production requirements.
  • Have knowledge of all departments in specified area(s).
  • Able to operate machinery.
  • Train new hires as needed.
  • Requisition and dispatch material to and from inventory.
  • Set up, shut down, monitor and control machine operations and change or correct settings to keep operations within specifications.
  • Use and maintain gauges and measuring devices.
  • Identify potential non-conforming products and ensure proper disposition.
  • Identify and label product and material correctly.  Store product properly.
  • Identify, log and ensure correct packaging, labeling and handling of lead scrap and waste containers as designated.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Know housekeeping procedures.
  • Be able to perform daily paperwork and record keeping.
  • May be infrequently asked to temporarily change shifts.
  • Overtime as required.
  • May be used to run production through breaks to meet scheduled demands.
  • Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
  • Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
  • Controlling nonconforming products
  • Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
  • Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
