About The Position

Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications. Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Complete all required information entry accurately. Perform any other tasks as assigned. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
• Basic math skills
• Strong safety mindset
• Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry
• Forklift operation experience
• Experience using hand-held measuring tools
• Basic computer literacy

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing.
• Safely set up equipment to run material per set-up note specifications.
• Process materials according to work order instructions.
• Inspect product to ensure it meets specifications and record measurements.
• Communicate with sales reps regarding order changes or clarifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general clean-up.
• Manage material identification tags per written instructions.
• Assist in packaging materials per work order.
• Maintain and calibrate measurement equipment.
• Operate weighing scales and record inspection data.
• Identify and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials.
• Provide feedback on machine efficiency and product quality.
• Follow all safety protocols—no shortcuts that compromise safety or quality.
• Train others as needed.
• Support lean manufacturing and quality initiatives.
• Work directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
