About The Position

WCF Insurance, an "A" rated carrier growing throughout the western states, has an immediate opening for an Underwriter on the Small Business team in Las Vegas, Nevada. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director of Underwriting and offers the opportunity for hybrid work (Tuesday through Thursday in-office). An underwriter applies quantitative and qualitative analysis along with sound underwriting principals to evaluate new and renewal account risks. The incumbent manages a book of business for growth, profitability, and retention. The underwriter initiates and handles agent relationships through service calls and occasional in-person visits. The person in this position provides a thorough, documented risk analysis on new and renewal accounts leading to a recommendation on coverage terms and premium. Requirements

  • At least three years commercial underwriting experience in all business lines
  • Working knowledge of NCCI and state bureau manuals, rules and classifications.
  • Experience with loss sensitive rating programs.
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite, excel experience required.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, business, or equivalent experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • CPCU, ARM, CIC or similar certifications preferred.
