About The Position

The Snack Bar Attendant prepares meals and serves food to restaurant customers in a courteous and timely manner to ensure an elevated level of customer satisfaction. This position will also clear dirty dishes from tables and wash dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, and/or pans.

Requirements

  • Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with customers, co-workers.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use kitchen appliances such as deep fryers, microwaves, pizza ovens, flat-top cook top, ice cream machine and coffee maker.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • TIPS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Valid Nevada State Alcohol Awareness Training certification and Clark County Health card.
  • Excellent listening and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of proper use of cleaning supplies and proper cleaning techniques.
  • Must understand and follow proper food preparation standards and techniques.
  • Stand/remain upright for entire shift, up to 8 or more hours per day.
  • Walk on uneven, sometimes slippery surfaces.
  • Stand, move around quickly for entire shift.
  • Kneel, bend, stoop, and squat repetitively throughout shift.
  • Twist and turn repetitively.
  • Reach forward, overhead, and down frequently.
  • Able to safely use a box opener.
  • Able to use general cleaning supplies.
  • Able to use cash register, POS system, and credit card machine.
  • Push/pull and lift mop and broom; use a mop and broom daily.
  • Able to remember, recite and promote a variety of menu items.
  • Use a stepladder to reach shelves 6 feet high.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds over head, to place and remove items from shelves 6 feet high.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds with assistance on a daily basis.
  • General knowledge regarding safe vessel operation and boating regulations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate vehicle with current driver’s license.
  • Ability to interact calmly with customers and co-workers under stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to make accurate observations.
  • Ability to use VHF radio.
  • Ability to operate boat for harbor patrol as needed.
  • Ability to be trained in fire extinguisher operations.
  • Have the Knowledge or ability to be trained in Recycled Materials.
  • Have the Knowledge or ability to be trained in Bloodborne Pathogen Awareness.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 to 6 months’ work experience short-order, fast-food cooking experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws including alcohol awareness procedures and recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Hotel/resort industry work experience working with the public preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent, professional customer service to all customers and employees visiting the lounge.
  • Greeting customers to include taking orders and serving food in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, menus, and supervisor instructions.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and cook areas are clean, inspected and in working condition.
  • Help other restaurant staff when necessary and/or run food orders, clean and help prep, etc.
  • Bus tables after customers have left include remove dirty/soiled dishes, wiping table surfaces and condiment/soda machine tables.
  • Wash dishes, glasses, flatware, cooking utensils, pots, and/or pans.
  • Perform work in a manner protective of human health and the environment and report any deviations of environmental policy to the F & B Manager.
  • Know and follow food rotation and spoilage policies and procedures.
  • Know and follow the SNHD along with Guest Services policies and procedures.
  • Know and follow all company, Environmental, Health and Safety Management Program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work.
  • Must be able to work and cooperate with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Sweep walkways, entrance ways and dining areas as needed to keep clean and free of litter.
  • Check cleanliness of women’s and men’s restrooms located behind the store to include empty trash, restock toilet paper, paper towels and toilet seat covers, refill soap dispensers, wipe down counters, mirrors, etc., as needed.
