About The Position

The Sober Living House Manager is a live-in position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sober living facility, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes residents' recovery and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of addiction recovery, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a community of accountability and support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 18 months of continuous sobriety.
  • Experience with sober living housing programs and a working knowledge of addiction, mental illness, and homelessness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage finances and coordinate with external service providers.
  • Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills.
  • Culturally sensitive with the ability to work with a diverse resident population.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a similar role within a sober living or recovery environment.
  • Certification or training in addiction counseling or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Engage residents in conversations and activities that are edifying and stimulating.
  • Assign household chores and monitor the cleanliness of residents' rooms and common areas.
  • Ensure residents adhere to house rules, including curfews and participation in recovery-related activities.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance, assisting residents in their transition to sober living.
  • Monitor for any unusual behaviors or potential conflicts between residents.
  • Address disputes promptly using conflict resolution skills to maintain a harmonious living environment.
  • Oversee the proper use and functioning of household appliances and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of household supplies and ensure residents have necessary items such as linens and hygiene products.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
  • Collect rent and manage the finances of the sober living facility, including paying bills.
  • Assist residents in finding employment or educational opportunities.
  • Facilitate house meetings, community meetings, and life skills groups.
