About The Position

The Social Media Associate is a part-time role responsible for creating engaging, accessible, and mission-driven content across Jay Nolan Community Services’ social media platforms. This role manages day-to-day social media activity, supports storytelling through interviews and content creation, and helps amplify organizational campaigns, events, and impact. The ideal candidate is a creative communicator who is organized, values-driven, and passionate about building community through thoughtful social media engagement. Hours: 20-25 hours/week (part time)

Requirements

  • BA in Marketing or equivalent field (optional)
  • Demonstrated experience in social media management (over 1,000 followers) & content creation
  • Experience in digital marketing and video production (filming and editing)
  • Socially minded and engaged in meaningful online conversations
  • Passionate about disability rights and social justice, both online and offline

Responsibilities

  • Posting social media content on company social media accounts including: Facebook Instagram LinkedIn TikTok
  • Managing social media calendar
  • Cultivating a social media presence
  • Encouraging engagement through interaction with users on social media
  • Commenting & liking relevant posts
  • Responding to message on social media pages
  • Quarterly reporting on social media metrics
  • Support leadership to write & post on social media (LinkedIn)
  • Staying up to date on current trends/hashtags
  • Ensure social media content follows accessibility best practices (alt text, captions, plain language, inclusive visuals
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications staff to align social media content with organizational goals, campaigns, and values.
  • Maintain brand voice, accessibility standards, and ethical storytelling practices across all platforms.

  • Follow consent, release, and ethical storytelling guidelines when featuring individuals served and families.
