About The Position

The Social Media Content Creator, reporting to the Director of Social Media, will support the development and execution of 92NY’s social media content across platforms, helping to grow engagement, drive awareness, and amplify 92NY’s programming. This role balances creative storytelling with hands-on content production, creating and curating social-first content — from short-form video and graphics to behind-the-scenes moments and live-event coverage — that reflects 92NY’s brand and mission. The Social Media Content Creator will contribute to content strategy and planning, campaign support, and cross-department collaboration, helping to align social media efforts with broader marketing and programming goals. This position requires a hands-on creator with a strong eye for culture and a passion for sharing 92NY’s programs with the world. The role also includes utilizing analytics and performance insights to optimize content and inform ongoing strategy. Additionally, the position works closely with the digital, web, marketing, PR, and event programming teams while liaising with third parties to lead specific content initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in social media, digital content, or influencer marketing; experience in podcasting or cultural/arts organizations is a plus.
  • Proven ability to plan, maintain, and execute social media/content calendars that align with programming and marketing priorities.
  • Deep knowledge of platform best practices, algorithms, and trends across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and emerging channels.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and a creative eye for producing content that engages audiences and moves culture.
  • Experience collaborating with talent, influencers, and creators, with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in video production and editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, Canva Video) for social-first content.
  • Experience supporting marketing or program campaigns, aligning content with strategic goals.
  • Understanding of basic SEO and platform optimization, including hashtags, tagging, and timing to maximize reach.
  • Skilled in organizing, archiving, and managing digital assets efficiently.
  • Comfortable with flexible scheduling to cover live events, including evenings or weekends.
  • Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, Linktree, Canva).
  • Passion for the arts, ideas, and the power of cultural institutions to shape public life.

Responsibilities

  • Master the voice, audience, and goals of 92NY, and contribute to the development of social media strategies across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, and others) to drive engagement and expand audience reach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ideate, produce, and execute content initiatives that align with organizational goals and enhance audience interaction.
  • Produce social-first content — including short-form video, graphics, memes, behind-the-scenes features, and live-event coverage — that reflects 92NY’s brand and programming and contributes to organizational, marketing and programming goals.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging trends, tools, and platform updates, and proactively share strategic recommendations to enhance content effectiveness.
  • Utilize analytics and performance insights to optimize content, report on results, inform strategy, and help set KPIs.
  • Proactively engage in daily brand-related social conversations with followers, patrons and staff.
  • Ensure all content follows best practices for metadata, thumbnails, annotations, and SEO.
  • Lead specific content initiatives or campaigns as needed, ensuring cohesive messaging and collaboration with the team.
