About The Position

The Social Services Coordinator facilitates programs and services aimed at enhancing the quality of life for affordable housing residents, including families, children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. This role fosters a safe, inclusive, and engaged community by coordinating activities that promote well-being, economic stability, and social development. The coordinator will implement Better Tomorrows’ five core focus areas: Health, Wellness and Nutrition; Academic Support; Financial Literacy; Job Readiness; and Social and Community Engagement.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and relevant data management systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced project planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to build relationships with residents, community partners, and stakeholders
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in social services or related field

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate programs for residents of all ages, leveraging community partnerships and resources
  • Educational and Economic Stability Programs: After-school and summer programs for children GED preparation and educational support programs Job readiness training, including resume building and computer skills Financial literacy programs for all ages
  • Health and Wellness Services: Health and wellness seminars promoting physical and mental well-being Case management services to help seniors age in place Occupational wellness programs for economic self-sufficiency
  • Community and Social Engagement: Social events to strengthen community bonds Neighborhood Watch and other safety initiatives "I’m OK" programs for seniors and individuals with disabilities
  • Resident Support and Case Management: Assist with referrals and follow-ups for residents needing specific services Conduct wellness checks and create individualized service goals for residents
  • Food Security Initiatives: Lead food distribution programs, including food banks and hot meal services
  • Administrative and Organizational Responsibilities: Track case management progress and program attendance using data systems Publish and distribute monthly newsletters and event calendars Engage volunteers and community partners to support programs Assist property management with resident compliance (e.g., healthy homes referrals) Manage site budgets following organizational procedures Secure supplemental program funding through grants, donations, and partnerships
  • Attend mandatory training/conferences, including overnight travel when required
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management
