About The Position

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking a Social Services Supervisor for our Outpatient Branches Center. Visit us online at: https://forestviewhospital.com/ The Social Services Supervisor coordinates and oversees the day-to-day delivery of outpatient clinical provisions; provides clinical leadership; and provides licensure required supervision to MA level clinical staff employed by Forest View Hospital Outpatient Branches Division, if able. This position actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision and Values of Forest View Hospital Outpatient programming using our Service Excellence program. The hours for this positions are Full Time, Salary Basis, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Masters degree in Social Work with licensure from the State of Michigan (LMSW).
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of community systems and processes related to social work and psychopathology treatment.
  • Experience in working with chronic mental illness and community-based systems required as well as knowledge of specialty populations such as children and adolescents, trauma, and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Carries a caseload of clients and/or group therapy as necessary, depending on staffing, census, and other considerations. Caseload expectations will be consistent with the general job description of the department’s inpatient clinicians.
  • Assigns patient cases daily and manages workload with staff in the department.
  • Schedules and coordinates staffing coverage, including illnesses, census fluctuations, and complex clinical issues. Provides assistance in staff coverage, as needed, which may include weekend coverage.
  • Supervises all clinical services staff members in completion of clinical documentation through chart audit process.
  • Will create and provide trainings in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations to improve staff’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Participates in the hiring and training of new clinical services staff, as needed.
  • Participates in hospital committees, as needed, and participates in business development plans through community involvement and marketing.
