About The Position
2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY The Connecticut River Academy (http://www.ctriveracademy.org) is a Sustainability Studies/Early College Magnet School operated by Goodwin University on its river campus in East Hartford serving students in grades 6 through 12. We are actively searching for a full time 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher in the Middle Grades Program to join our dynamic team of educators this school year. An ideal candidate is someone who has an ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds and interests. The Middle Grades Program (grades six through eight) bridges the academic and social-emotional success for scholars as they progress from Riverside Magnet School (pre-kindergarten to grade five) to the CT River Academy (grades nine through twelve). The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to work with students from urban and suburban settings, and possess an understanding of and appreciation for multicultural education. Appropriate CSDE certification (can have K-6 certification or 7-12 Social Studies) or evidence of eligibility is required. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
